Welcome Parents and Students!

2020-21

Dear Saburo Muraoka Elementary School Families,

Welcome to the 2020-21 school year! Teachers and staff have been working hard and are eager to officially open their "virtual classrooms" to students, parents and the community. And eventually, a welcome back to our campus--when it is safe to do so. As you know, we will start the year in a distance learning format. We will have a pioneering, historic year ahead of us, one that will be filled with learning, innovation, and, yes, even JOY! We look forward to seeing all of your smiling faces whether on a screen or, at a future date, in person.

Our goal will be to ensure Muraoka is a 21st Century inclusion school where all students will be models of good character, embrace creativity, be voracious learners, and empowered to be confident and self-aware. Just as Saburo Muraoka was remembered as a successful, hardworking, leader of peace, Muraoka Elementary aims to practice and embrace these qualities serving as an inspiration to our community. Muraoka Elementary will promote a culture where all learners will be unified and encouraged to be creative, collaborative, innovative, embrace inclusion, and develop a deep desire to learn. We are excited for all of you to be contributing members of our new school community. We will strive to have parents and staff work harmoniously to create exceptional learning environments for children in a safe and welcoming atmosphere.

As we progress through the year, information will be sent home via parent letters/electronic flyers, school messages (telephone and email), our school website, Peachjar. Information will be posted to our social media pages in an effort to keep you informed about student learning and activities.
