Principal's Corner

Welcome to the 2026–2027 School Year!

Dear Muraoka Families,

As we begin the new school year, I am incredibly honored and excited to welcome you to Saburo Muraoka Elementary School as your principal. Muraoka is such a special place, and I feel very lucky to be part of a community filled with caring staff, supportive families, and amazing students.

At Muraoka, we strive to create a welcoming and supportive environment where all students feel safe, connected, and encouraged to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. We want our students to feel excited to come to school each day, knowing they are part of a community that believes in them and encourages them to think deeply, take risks, and do their best.

As Momongas, we strive to be safe, respectful, responsible, and kind in all that we do. These values help guide our school community and create a positive environment where students can learn, build friendships, and develop confidence in themselves. Through our focus on Creating Cultures of Thinking, students are encouraged to ask questions, share their ideas, collaborate with others, and become thoughtful problem-solvers and learners.

What makes Muraoka truly special is the strong sense of community between our school and families. We know that when schools and families work together, students thrive. Your support, involvement, and partnership help create the positive and caring environment that makes Muraoka such a wonderful place for children to learn and grow. Whether you are volunteering, attending events, supporting your child at home, or staying connected through our school communication, we appreciate all that you do.

Thank you for trusting us to be part of your child’s educational journey. I am excited for the year ahead and all the opportunities we will have to learn, grow, and celebrate together as a Momonga community.

Warmly,

Dr. Jillian Musa
